Rodriguez / De Bonis
Stile Libero
Emiliano Rodriguez (saxophones)
Stefano De Bonis (piano)
Stile Libero symbolizes respect for the jazz tradition at the same time as the aptitude for a personal vision of improvisation, which represents the common ground that links the members of the duo, through pathways that go from afro-american jazz, Latin American musical culture to ethnic music from the Mediterranean area.
Chamber music, popular music, classical references, jazz, blend to create a new musical view, characterized by a remarkable interplay between the musicians and a continuous change between composition and improvisation.
All this makes each concert a unique event every time.
Rodriguez and De Bonis have released the CD "D’acqua e di vento" published by "Wide Sound", which includes all original compositions.
"Here are two of the best italian jazz talents that have come out in the last fifteen years. Authors of original compositions oriented to an exponential creation of a new lingua franca ... Their last release is one of the best italian works of the last years. The duo synthesizes the sound and the essence of the multiple musical experiences of their life. Tensed, exciting, unpredictable, asymmetric zigzag music. A window on the Mediterranean sea ..." (Jazz Magazine – Italy)
