Emiliano Rodriguez / Massimo Folliero
"The Italian Way"
Emiliano Rodriguez - saxophones
Massimo Folliero - piano
“The Italian Way” was born after the meeting between the saxophonist Emiliano Rodriguez and the pianist Massimo Folliero, two musicians who have a prestigious international records of performances and for many years have invested their time to study in depth the differences among music languages (classical, jazz, ethnic, etc.).
This is a project totally focused on Italian composers. The programme proposal has been chosen without any limit in terms of time, simply following an ideal line which starts at the Baroque era and reach the present days, without any stylistic foreclosure, giving the right space to contemporary composers who fully express the heterogeneous panorama of today's music by using the ability to contaminate the styles.
Therefore we first propose baroque echoes by A. Marcello and A. Vivaldi, then a little trip into the world of opera with G. Puccini music. After that we push the listener up to the present day by presenting original soundtracks arrangements by E. Morricone and N. Rota. To complete the programme will be presented some pieces by contemporary Italian composers as well (R. Molinelli, M. Rocchetta, D. Salvatore, G. Sollima, R. Bartoli etc.), who developed a varied stylistic composing approach in their original works, often unpublished, compared to other musical cultures around the world.
